The current IP will swap places with the IP that has the given swap word, restoring your identity.   Any statistics on the current IP will be transferred to the IP you are swapping into. The IP you are swapping into will be banned for 3 hours. If a IP is swapped into twice within three hours both IPs will be banned 6 hours. If a IP is swapped into three times within 12 hours both IPs will be banned 48 hours. Make sure that only you know your swap word, that it is hard to guess, and that you don't swap more than twice a day with at least three hours in between. Know that you cannot swap "out of" a IP so the IP you used when swapping will keep your identity until you have swapped into it from another IP. Don't use this in public places; in fact you should only do a swap when you know no one else will use the same IP as you. Also don't confuse this with an account login, this is mearly a way of preserving your main Anonymous identity. Using a tripcode is the closest you will get to using an actual account on this site.
